The Role

Genesis Minerals is seeking to employ a Mining Engineer with production and short term planning experience to join the Open Pit mining team.

This is a permanent opportunity, working 8 days on, 6 days off roster. The role may be Fly-in Fly-out from Perth WA, Drive-in Drive-out from Kalgoorlie or residential in Leonora.

The opportunity:

• Short-term mine schedule;
  
• Drill and blast design;
  
• Mining evaluation, reconciliation and reporting;
  
• Assist with the preparation of monthly and quarterly development and production schedule;
  
• Production focussed activities including:
  
• Schedule and monitor short-term planning;
  
• Coordinate open pit production activities;
  
• Liaise with relevant personnel to ensure production plans are executed effectively to optimise ore extraction;
  

Production reporting;

• Liaise with the OP mining in house contractor on a daily basis;
  
• Monitor and assess geotechnical action plans;
  
• Undertake productivity and equipment utilisation improvement studies;
  
• FIFO from Perth to Leonora
  

What we will expect from you:

· Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering

· A high level of computer literacy with sound understanding of MS office suite, competent user of mine design and planning software, Deswik would be highly regarded;

· 2+ years’ experience in Open Pit operations;

· Quarry Manager ticket or working towards a Quarry Manager’s ticket desirable;

· High level of personal organisational and communication skills; and

· Ability to work in two different sites, with multiple pits.
